PTA Mission Statement: Every child. One Voice. PTA's mission is to make every child’s potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children.
R.H. Dana is a community held together by the support and volunteer hours of parents like you! We strive to create a fun, supportive, caring atmosphere for our school while trying to close any gaps in state educational funding. Please ask parents, grandparents, friends, and students to join. We need YOU!
Programs We Help Provide
What Does the PTA do?
Our PTA focuses on supporting our teachers and staff, as well as building a strong community. We work together to create a fun and engaging place for our students to learn and grow. All of the money we raise goes directly back into our students and our school!
The following are just some of the programs the PTA helps provide to our school:
Through the Meet The Masters art program, instructors will introduce our students to four historical art masters and in turn students will explore their own artistic abilities. The PTA also organizes the National PTA Reflections Art contest, where students submit their own art based on the annual theme.
This fall we will raise funds through our Giving Tree in order to purchase additional bilingual books for our newly renovated library. In December we will host a Book Fair to build interest in books and to inspire a love of reading.
Provide teachers with special funds for science based learning activities.
In the Spring we will hold our annual Jogathon encouraging movement and community. Money raised from this event will go towards next year’s programs, field trips, and our garden/nature path projects.
The PTA sponsors each grade-level field trip, including 5th grade overnight science camp.
We plan to continue to create and strengthen relationships with businesses and organizations in Dana Point.
On Campus Fun
Our goal is to create a fun and enthusiastic environment for our students and staff. We will help bring assemblies back to campus as well as host many events this year including:
Membership Popsicle Party
Fall Family Picnic
Hot Chocolate Social
Pumpkin Carving Contest
Spring Break Scavenger Hunt
We host teacher appreciation events throughout the year such as a Welcome Back Breakfast, Holiday Luncheon and multiple Teacher Appreciation Week meals/activities. We will also create a Teacher/Staff Spotlight program to better get to know our teachers and staff.
*Please note some activities may have to be put on hold or modified as we have to follow safety guidelines provided by the district.
