Message from our Board President
Dear R.H. Dana Families,
Welcome (back) to R.H. Dana Elementary! My name is Lindsay Radomksi and I am very excited to be this year’s PTA President. I have twin whales swimming into second grade and a one year old calf that will one day join the R.H. Dana pod. I am so grateful for the opportunity to build our school and community together. We are a bilingual, biliterate, and bicultural school--amazing qualities we will share with our incoming families! Together we will continue with our mission to engage and support the learning and growth of every student at R.H. Dana.
This year we will pick up where we all left off. We look forward to showing our new families the wonderful on-campus activities that took place pre-pandemic. We are planning for numerous events and programs to enjoy together throughout the year. Friday morning assemblies will return where we will all celebrate our scholars and build school spirit. We are excited to hold meetings on campus again--a time to exchange information and ideas. This fall we will host a Membership Drive and Popsicle Party and our first Fall Family Picnic. We hope to bring back Popcorn Friday, an ongoing event of sharing food and connecting with other families and staff. We will hold our annual Jogathon where our entire school, their families, and community members come together in the name of fun and movement. Our final event will be our Spring Carnival, our biggest event of the year. This will be a fantastic chance to support our school and to get to know one another. These are just a few of the many ways that our PTA will create a welcoming and unified community for all!
In addition to our focus on community, we will also be raising funds to support various educational programs for our students. We will bring Meet the Masters, an outside art program, to campus four times throughout the year. We will fund other programs such as teacher's science-centered learning, the 5th Grade Legacy Project and 5th Grade Science Camp. As well as sponsor field trips and assemblies for all grades. We will also continue to put funds toward grade-level books to build our bilingual library for our Spanish Immersion program. During the pandemic we took full advantage of the library being closed and put time and energy into its renovation. We bought new furniture and shelving to create a bright and inviting space for our students to read, relax and discover. We can't wait for our students and teachers to take advantage of this bright and engaging new space on campus.
Thank you so much for your interest in helping our school and our PTA. All of these programs and events are possible because of our families and the time, energy, and resources they give to our school. We look forward to the moments that we will share and the impact we will make together. Please feel free to reach out if you have ideas, questions or a desire to volunteer!
