The PTA Executive Board of Officers are volunteer positions held by parents of R.H. Dana students. Our board is elected each spring to serve during the upcoming school year. Elections for next year’s Board will be held in March. Below you will find a list of our current Executive Board, and various volunteer opportunities. Volunteer Opportunities
We would love (we WHALE-Y need) your help!
We are looking forward to welcoming and training our new volunteers as well as leaning on the experience of our veteran volunteers. It is our goal to have a wonderful mixture of English and Spanish speaking volunteers. For all of the opportunities listed below we will need chairs/coordinators and many additional helpers. Email us with any questions or to volunteer!

Spring Celebration
This is our last big celebration of the year and takes place in the Spring. We will be organizing and providing food, entertainment and games. We will need LOTS of planning and volunteers.
Meet the Masters
We need 3-4 volunteers to help prepare and deliver art materials for art lessons--4 times throughout the year.
Giving Tree
We will need a few volunteers to create and distribute flyers and leaves for our tree and to collect leaves and donations returned to school during the first two weeks of November.
Jogathon
This event will require advanced planning of logistics and sponsors and will require the recruitment of many volunteers the day of the event to set up, tally runners and clean up.
Popcorn Fridays
We will need volunteers throughout the year for this fun school-wide event. We are looking for someone to organize the volunteers (set up, food sales and cleanup) as well as to inventory and purchase snack items.
Book Fair
We are in need of someone to plan our Book Fair. You will serve as the contact person to Scholastic as well as our RH Dana families. You will help coordinate volunteers to run an on campus bookstore for one week in December.
Winter Celebration
Our winter celebration is a community event filled with food and families. We will gather together to eat, chat and dance. The coordinator will need to organize decorations, food donations, DJ and event volunteers (set up, ticket/food sales and cleanup).
Winter Celebration Raffle
Our coordinator will need to find multiple donations (the more the merrier) for our raffle. This person will also need to create raffle baskets in advance of the event.
Restaurant Fundraisers
We will need someone to coordinate days and times with partners at local restaurants. We will also need flyers printed and distributed prior to the events.
Donation Chair
This chair will gather items throughout the year for various events and activities (ex. water donation for Jogathon, toys for the Dana Dollar Store, etc.)
Business Sponsorships
This person will help by reaching out to businesses to partner with and sponsor our school.
Room Parents
We will have 1-2 per class. They will work with both the teachers and the PTA.
Professional Graphic Design
We would love help with logos, stickers, magnets, uniform/spirit wear and Jogathon shirts!
